Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, is known for its vibrant Caribbean culture, stunning beaches, and pastel British colonial architecture. Taking inspiration from The New York Times's 36 Hours series, and shooting on a Canon PowerShot 5.0–25.00 mmI, I wanted to capture the deeper story of this town on the island that attracts travelers from all over the world. Two of my stories were selected for the Florida News Awards of the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists' college contest. This is a meaningful recognition as a journalist with a digital focus for the work I've done in broadcast, both radio and video. My work was selected as finalists for the Light News Feature and Politics & Government Reporting award categories.
